Early diagnosis and treatment for sickle cell disease is key to helping our warriors.
We calling all stakeholders to come on board and see how best we can be part of the solution to this problem our people are facing globally. Yesterday I received a call from a parent who was asking me if we could assist his son with hydroxyurea for he could not afford it. It broke my heart to deny that parent access to this essential medicine because his son was 18 years old and RACIZ only help children Up to 16years of age. We need a lasting solution for the burden of sickle cell disease is huge and needs a cooperate approach from a national and global perceptive.
On 16 July 2022, RC of Lusaka visited the Children’s hospital to donate hydroxyurea worth 12,000.
