ROTARY INTERNATIONAL PRESIDENT VISITS ZAMBIA
It was a pleasure welcoming the Rotary International President Mrs. Jennifer Jones with her delegation this morning at State House.
We thanked them for the great contribution they have made in various areas of our country during their 70 years of existence in Zambia. Rotary International has been a steadfast and reliable partner for government as we raise the standard of living for our people especially in the health sector.
We were delighted to hear about their intention to enhance their intervention in malaria control. Malaria is one of the most deadly diseases our citizens face, and is particularly dangerous for our children. As newly recruited health workers are posted across the country, we are improving staffing levels in our hospitals and clinics and we welcome partnerships like this.
We call on more organisations like Rotary International to partner with government and complement our efforts to improve the lives of our citizens.
Hakainde Hichilema
President of the Republic of Zambia
